Wedding – Fenn & Oliver

May 1932

Mexborough and Swinton Times, May 20th, 1932

White satin patterned with palest pink and blue, was worn by Miss Florence Fenn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Georges Fenn, Dearne View Cottages, Little Houghton, at her marriage at Darfield Parish Church, on Saturday, to Mr. Charles Oliver, son of Mrs. Padgett, and the late Mr. Oliver, of Mexborough.

The bride also wore a long veil embroidered with silks, attached to a bandeau of pearls and lilies of the valley.  She carried a shower bouquet of pink and white carnations.

She was attended by her sister, Mrs. Townsend, and the bridegroom’s sister, Miss Gwen Oliver, who wore peach floral georgette with pink satin capes, and pink satin muffs decorated with parma violets.  Their black shiny straw halo hats had bandeaux of peach velvet flowers and they wore black suede shoes. They also wore diamante bracelets gifts of the bridegroom.

Mr. Lewis Watts officiated as best man, and Messrs. Herbert Townend and Albert Beardsley as groomsman.  The ceremony was performed by the Rev. E. C. Tippetts.  The bride’s parents entertained a large number of guests.
