Marriage: Ellis and Williams

The marriage was solemnised at Wath Parish church on Saturday of Miss Kathleen May Ellis, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Ellis, of 51, Oak Road, Wath and Mr. Edward Charles Williams, eldest son of Mr and Mrs. J. Williams of 16, Queen’s Terrace, Mexborough.

Dressed in a gown of white figured lace, over satin, cut on Elizabethan lines, with long veil and coronet of ostrich feathers and orange blossom and carrying pink roses and lilies of the valley, the bride was given away by her father.  She was attended by Misses Molly Ellis and Joan Ambler. Mr. K. Sharp was best man and Mr. L. Ellis, groomsman.

The bride’s two brothers, Sgt-Inst. Eric Ellis (Serving in India) and L/A/c. Ronald Ellis were unable to attend.  The bridegroom is secretary of Mexborough Adult School.

The couple receive a gift from the bridegroom’s colleagues at the Swinton and Mexborough Gas Board.
