A member of a well-known Mex-borough family, Dr. Arther Rennie Lee, son of Mrs. and the late Dr. J. A. R. Lee, Church Gates, Church Street, was married at the Roman Catholic Church, Newark, on Monday, to Miss Ann Janet Dempsey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Dempsey, of Port Arlington, County Leix, Ireland. Father Bostock officiated.
Given away by her brother, Mr. Jack Dempsey (London), the bride wore a turquoise blue two-piece suit with brown hat and shoes, and carried a bouquet of pink roses. Her sister, Miss Betty Dempsey, of Cork, acted as bridesmaid, and the best man was Dr. Harold John Lee (Mexborough), the bridegroom’s brother. A reception was held at Church Gates. Dr. and Mrs. A. R. Lee are to take up residence at Lincoln.
Dr. Lee was educated at Mexborough Secondary School and at Sheffield University where he took his degree; he is now in practice at Lincoln. Mrs. Lee was formerly a nurse at the Sheffield Royal Hospital, and latterly she has be Sister at the Newark Hospital.
