Prytherch-Cliff.
Miss Gertrude Cliff, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Cliff, 130, Doncaster Road, Mexboro’, was married at the Mexboro’ Primitive Methodist Church on Monday, to Mr. Isaac Henry Prytherch, son of Mr. and Mrs. T. H. Prytherch, Dearham, Maryport (Cumberland), the Rev. W. Ashby officiating.
The service was choral and the hymn, “O perfect love” was sung. Mr. J. Edwards was the organist.
The bride was given away by her father and wore white georgette and silk lace, with embroidered net veil, and a silver chain and mother-o-pearl pendant, and carried pink carnations.
She was attended by Miss Bell (Barnsley) in rose beige silk marocain and black crinoline hat, and carrying gladioli; and Misses Mabel and Audrey Worthington in pale pink angel skin in Victorian style, with wreaths and silver leaves, and carrying Victorian posies.
Mr. W. Brooks was best man and Mr. G. Anderson, groomsman. . The bridegroom presented gold and pearl necklets to the maids. The reception was held in the P.M. Institute and the bride’s mother received the guests in brown suede, trimmed beige.
The honeymoon is being spent in Cumberland. The gifts included a clock from the P.M. Sunday School in which the bride has been scholar and teacher.
