The marriage was solemnised at Mexborough Parish Church on Saturday of Miss Mary Gwendoline Brewin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Brewin, 46. Church Street, Mexborough, and Mr. William Henry Hill, son of Mrs. E. Hill, 15, Glasshouse Lane. Mexborough.
Mr. L. Fletcher accompanied at the organ the singing of the hymn “O Father All Creating.”
Given away by her father, the bride wore a gown of white figured silk marocain with silver kid sandals, and a veil and wreath. She carried red roses and white carnations.
The bridesmaids, Misses Joan Mawby, Hilda Langton, Margery Halton, Doreen Colelough. Mary Seagraves and Elsie Mawbey wore gowns of pink and blue taffeta with coronets to tone. They carried pink and white carnations and their gifts from the bridegroom were necklets and bangles. The page, John Fowler, wore a blue satin suit and carried a silver horseshoe.
Mr. William Hatton was best man and Mr. Tom Carr groomsman.
The bride and bridegroom, who are both employed at Messrs. Baker and Bessemer. Ltd., Kilnhurst. received from their colleagues a mahogany mantle, a chiming clock and an electric clock.
