British Association of Colliery Officials and Staff
Nearly 1.000 delegates of the Association from all parts of South Yorkshire met at Mexborough last night and unanimously endorsed the Executive Committee’s recommendations for a limited strike action on Saturday morning.
The tenor of the meeting was for all-out strike action, but the general secretary, Mr. George Tyler, defended the Executive Committee’s policy and pointed out that members must place national Interests above sectional Interests.
To interfere with coal output at the present time, he said, was step which could only be taken as a last resort
