The Mexboro’ and Swinton Strike Committee.
The Mexborough and Swinton Railway Strike Committee, photographed immediately before the return to work on Monday.
This committee sat almost continuously during the strike, and displayed extraordinary activity and energy, furnishing pickets, arranging and addressing meetings, and generally organising strike measures for about 1300 railwaymen.
There were also a practical guarantee for the good behavior of the strikers, and in their area there was no unpleasant incident.
They carried out their places for the forces of Law & Order. The chairman of the Committee was cancelled G.W.Bramham, of Mexborough, and among the members were many who have been prominent in local railway trade unionism for many years.
