Stink Bombs In Conisborough Cinema.
Two Mexborough Youths Sent To Prison.
Ostrick Gascoyne, eighteen, and Daniel Wildman, seventeen, pit hands, belonging to the district, were at Doncaster yesterday fined 10s. for having done damage at the Globe Picture House, Conisborough, the previous night, and were sent to prison for two months for having assaulted the manager, James Hy. Blackett, and for three months for having assaulted Police-constable Kay, the sentences to run concurrently.
They were suspected of being concerned in the throwing of “stink ” bombs in the Picture House, and when the manager spoke to them at the conclusion the performance, they left the building by way of climbing over the seats and damaging them instead of going out the usual way.
When the constable was called they assaulted him, and they struck the manager in the face, knocked his glasses off, and otherwise assaulted him.
