Four Conisbrough Brothers

 

 

 

Four sons of Mrs. and the late Mr. H. Tyas, 2, Sheffield Road, Conisbrough are with the Forces.

Two are with the Army and two with the R.A.F. Three of them have served abroad.  Driver Herbert Tyas (35), R.A.S.C., was employed at Mexborough as a builder before joining up.  He is back in this country after two years abroad.   His home is in Chaucer Road, Mexborough.

Staff Sergt. William Tyas (32) has spent 2 of his 3½ years’ Army life in the Faroe Isles. He used to be a lorry driver.

L.A/c. John Tyas (24) was called up in 1941 and is now training as Flight Engineer.  He formerly worked for Conisbrough Brick Co.

A motor mechanic before joining the RA.F. in 1942, L.A/c. Jim Tyas (24) is a driver and is stationed in Malta.
