With The Force’s

Two Mexborough girls serving with the A.T.B. are Violet and Eveline Ramsey daughters of Mr. and Mrs. C. Ramsey, 11, Dryden Road, Mexborough.

Before joining up Evaline (21), who volunteered in December, 1941, and who has now been in the Forces for six weeks, worked in a Salvation Army Red Shield Canteen in Scotland.

Nineteen year old Violet, who also volunteered in December 1941, and has been in the Forces for seven weeks, was formerly a domestic servant at Halifax. The sisters were educated at Dolcliffe Road School and were members of the Mexborough Corps of the Salvation Army.

Violet was one of the Mexborough Songsters.

Both are privates in the R.A., but are at different stations.
