Wounded Out East

 

Two sons of Mrs. and the late Mr. Charles Clarke, of 27, Hartley Street. Mexborough, who are serving with the Royal Artillery, are Gunner James Clarke (31). and Gunner Leonard Clarke (23).

James was called up 12 months ago and was formerly a collier at Denaby Main. He is married and lives at 34 Morton Road, Mexborough .

Leonard was called up on his 21st birthday, before which he worked on the screens at Denaby Main.

Their nephew. David Poynton (19), oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. S. Poynton, of 12. John Street. Mexborough, is serving in the Middle East and two months ago was wounded in the fighting there. He is now fit.

He worked in the wagon shop at Denaby Main.
