Signaller A/B. Cyril Badger and A/C. Douglas Badger, sons of Mr. J. W. Badger, of Temperance Street. Swinton, are Mexborough born lads.

Until being called up they were both employed in a Halifax mill, and had made many friends there.

Before leaving Mexborough for Halifax, Douglas was employed at a Mexborough butcher’s shop. He was captain of Swinton Bridge School football team up to leaving school.
