Mrs. C. Winfrow of 6 Victoria Street, Mexborough, eldest daughter of Coun J. Walton J.P. and Mrs. Walton has been notified that her husband, Corporal Charles Winfrow was wounded on September 27th, while serving with the York ad Lancs. Regiment in the Central Mediterranean.  He is now in a North African hospital.

Before joining the Forces, he was employed at the Mexborough branch of the Home and Colonial Stores.

Cpl. Winfrow, who is 26, was called up in 1940 and went to North Africa in January this year.
