who has been at the Front over 18 months, has according to a letter received by brother, Mr John Wilcox of the Sheffield Royal Hospital, from another brother, Private Fred Wilcox, been killed in action.

Both Private Fred Wilcox and Cpl Davis Wilcox are well-known in Mexborough, though when he enlisted the deceased soldier was employed in Rotherham.
