Former Mexborough Man in Egypt

John Thomas White, son of the late James White of Schofield Street, Mexborough, has been serving nearly 2 years in Egypt, and is at present attached to a light mobile Worksop.

He is 36 years of age, and married, and his home is now in Lincoln. He was formerly a fitter at Messrs Verity’s Wagon Wheel Works, Swinton, and completing his apprenticeship he joined the regular Army some years before the war stop

He was however discharged on account of heart trouble, and after the outbreak of war only succeeded in reinvesting after having been three times rejected.

He writes to say that he is well and happy, and anxious to “see it through.”
