Lance Corporal Ernest Twigg, Mexborough
5th York and Lancaster

Private Taylor (10th York and Lancaster) of 33 Kirkby St, Mexborough, was wounded on 22 December, and is now in Bagthorpe Hospital Nottingham. He is making excellent progress, and in a letter to his wife mentions that he is well cared for.

The letter contains the following passage “Will you look out for these names in the ‘Times’: J Cooper of Denaby, and Stuart Mexborough and if their photographs are in the paper, click them out and send them to me.

I was asleep with them when I got this done, and it killed them both instantly.
