Killed In Action

Mr. and Mrs. E. Sylvester. 28. Oliver Street, Mexborough have received official notification that their eldest son, Pte. Edward Sylvester (28), was killed in action in India on March 18th.

Pte. Sylvester, who before the war was a hospital porter in Reading, was with the Royal Berkshire Regiment, and had been in the Army three years and in India a year.

He was educated at Garden Street, Mexborough, but left the district when he was 16

His sister, Mrs Dorothy Temple, is anĀ  L/A.c.w. and a cook in the W.A.A.F.
