Private Sykes 7, Milton Road, Mexborough, was killed in action in France on September 24.

He was 19 years of age and before enlistment  was employed by  Ainley and Sons, furnishers, Mexborough.

He was a step brother of Spr. Irving Howarth, referred to in this column.

Another brother is serving in France.
