“Show Boat” In Germany

Cpl. Ernest Stanton of 50, Oliver Street, Mexborough, who is a prisoner of war in Germany, has sent home two interesting photographs of concert party groups which he has organised in his prison camp.

The pictures are unfortunately not clear enough for newspaper reproduction, but they provide evidence of the integrity and enterprise of the prisoners in getting up these shows.

Cpl. Stanton’s concert party was ambitious enough to produce “Show Boat.”

Cpl. Stanton was captured in Greece in 1941.  He has made one escape from his camp, but was recaptured. A parcel from the Mexborough Comforts Fund is the only one he has received other than the usual Red Cross parcels.
