Killed In Action

Gnr. Thomas Ridley, of the Royal Artillery, has been reported killed in action on November 6th, while serving with the Eighth Army in Italy.

He is the husband of Mrs. Ridley, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Timmins, of 36, Kirby Street, Mexborough, and is the only son of Mr. and the late Mrs. T. Ridley, of Roman Terrace.

Gnr. Ridley was called up in 1943, and has been on active service for the last two years abroad.  He served in Tunisia and Sicily before moving over to Italy with the Eighth Army.

He was employed at Denaby Main Colliery before the war.
