Pte. Albert Pryor (22) youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. R. Pryor, of 7, Hampden Road, Mexborough, has been serving in the Duke of Wellington’s Regiment since October, 1939.

In 1940 he was sent to France and was later in the evacuation from Dunkirk.

Born in Mexborough, he attended Dolcliffe Road School and before joining up worked at the Denaby Main Colliery as a screen hand.
