Private Poxton, of the Durham Light Infantry, who lived at 71, Wath Road, Mexborough, has been killed in action on August 25.

He was 25 years of age, and before joining the army, which he did on 29th of December 1916, he was employed at the Denaby Powder Works.

He went to France in April this year.

A memorial service is to be held on Sunday.
