Killed in Action

Mr. and Mrs. W. Pashley, of Ivy Cottage, Adwick-on-Dearne, have received news that their son, Gnr. George Kenneth Pashley (25) has been killed in action in South East Asia.

The news was contained in a letter from his Commanding Officer.  Official news from the War Office is not yet forthcoming.

Gnr. Pashley is an old boy of Mexborough Secondary School and before joining up worked at Barnburgh Main Colliery offices.  He was in the Territorials, joining up when he left school at 16.  His father was sexton of Adwick Church for 16 years and his uncle was caretaker for some time.

Gnr. Pashley was a member of the one of the oldest families in Adwick.
