Mr Henry Newey, of Wood Street, Mexborough, has received information from the regimental record office that his son, private Alfred Newey is at a convalescent depot in France, having sustained injuries necessitating the amputation of the second finger of his left hand.

Mr Newitt has another son, Private J. Newey, who is a prisoner of war in Germany.
