Rifleman George Morris of 101 Market St, Mexborough, a married man with two children, was killed in action in August 18.

Before the war he was a postman.

As a reservist he was mobilised in August 5, 1914, and was wounded in action in France in April 1915. He returned to France in February 1916, and remained there until his death.

He was 31 years of age.

His brother in law Rifleman WH Watson (King’s Royal rifles) was discharged in July 1916
