Cpl. G. E. Meek

On Tuesday, Mrs. Meek, of Pitt. Street, Mexboro’, had a communication from her husband’s officer stating:

“I regret to say your husband been missing since the 10th inst.”

Corpl. George Edward Meek is in the South Wales borderers. He was in Wales when he joined the Army, shortly after then outbreak of the War.

Four 18 months he had been at the base in charge of men About six months ago he came: home to be married. to Miss Beatrice Swingler.

Latterly he seems to have been in the thick of the fighting.
