On Barrage Balloon Site

Miss Jean Marklew, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Marklew, of 15, Victoria Street, Wath Road, Mexborough, is enjoying life in the W.A.A.F., which she joined last April.

Jean, who is 19, is stationed on a barrage balloon site in the South of England and finds the work congenial and the quarters very comfortable.

In civil life she was a waitress at the Empress Cafe, and will be remembered by a host of friends at St. Michael’s Church, Swinton, of which she has been a lifelong member and latterly a Sunday school teacher.
