Short-Lived Freedom

Freedom with his friends for 12 days and then recapture by the Germans was the news contained in a letter dated October 12th from Trooper Albert (“Johnny”) Mangham (28), of 4, Ruskin Avenue, Mexborough.

Trooper Mangham stated he was then in a transit camp on his way to Germany. He was taken prisoner at Tobruk in Jume, 1942, three months after going to the Middle East. The only son of Mr. and Mrs. George Mangham. of 12 Charles Street, Swinton,

Trooper Mangham joined the R.A.C. two and a half years ago, previously being a chemist in Sheffield.
