One of the Mexborough girls who volunteered during the Auxiliary Territorial Service recruiting Campaign in the town was Miss Florence E. Lewis (23),  youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis, Linden House, Alexandra Road, Mexborough.

Miss Lewis was called up on Monday, before which she was employed at the Mexborough branch of Messrs. F. W. Woolworth’s.
