Mexborough Officer in Hospital

Second Lieutenant Watson Laidlaw (York and Lancs)

News was received last weekend by Mr and Mrs N B Laidlaw, of Bank House Mexborough, that their eldest son, Second Lieutenant Watson Laidlaw (York and Lancaster) was admitted to hospital in France on March 20 with frostbite, and they have since learned that he is making excellent progress.

Second Lieutenant Laidlaw, who is 20 years of age, enlisted more than a year ago in the Royal Highlanders (Black Watch) and was gazetted to a commission in the York and Lancaster Regiment last December.

He went to France in early in January and since seen service of the most arduous description.
