14 Hampden Rd, Mexborough, died in July 9 of wounds received in action in France.

He was a Reservist, mobilised at the outbreak of war, and went in September 1914 to France, where he served continuously ever since.

He was single, aged 36.

His father Mr Richard Jones died recently.

A brother Sgt G.E.Jones was killed in a revolver accident on board a transport in the Persian Gulf in September 1914, was the first Mexborough casualty reported in the present war.

His sister is a nurse in the third Northern Gen Hospital, Sheffield.
