Private Charles Alfred Jackson, sixth son of Mr John Jackson, of 46 Simpson Place, Mexborough, died in a casualty clearing station October 8 of shrapnel wounds. He was attached to the 25th Canadian regiment and joined the Forces early in the year.

He was formerly a horseman at a colliery near Nova Scotia. Before going to Canada he lived with his parents and was employed at Denaby Main.

He was 40 years of age
