Soldier – Huntingdon, Harry – Left Leg Amputated

May 1917

Mexborough and Swinton Times May 12, 1917

Private Harry B Huntingdon
(York and Lancaster)

Bank Street, Mexborough, has been severely wounded and had his left leg amputated.

He is now in hospital in France and is reported to be making satisfactory progress.

He has been in France about five months, during which time you see some very heavy fighting.

He enlisted eight months ago, I was previously employed as assistant manager in Messes Whittaker’s Bank Street establishment.
