Private Hawcroft has been missing since Oct. ’26, and any intelligence of him will be gratefully welcomed by his wife, at 42, Frederick Street, Mexboro’.

He enlisted in June, 1915, and had previously seen service with the Lancers in the South African War. During the present war be saw active service in Ireland during the Rebellion, and was later drafted to France.

Before enlistment he was employed at Manvers Main.

His brother, Pte. Fred Hawcroft (K.O.Y L.I.) has been wounded.
