Private Alf Hargreaves

Private Alf Hargreaves (York and Lancs), 111, Main Street, Mexborough has been killed in action. His parents have received information from the Record Office. They have also received the sympathy of the King.
Private Hargreaves was wounded last July, and after recovery, return to the trenches only to be killed on 15 November. He was 22 years of age, and enlisted in October 1914. He had been fighting in France 15 months.
He has two brothers serving. Private George has had his arm blown off, and is at present at Brighton, and Private Thomas is recuperating from wounds in Northumberland.
