Private Fred Hallam, son of Mr. airs Mrs. John Hallam, 84, Dolcliffe-read,. Mexboro’, is in hospital abroad with gas-shell wounds, and is-making excellent progress.

He is 22, and has been serving since August, 1916, being formerly employed at the Phoenix Gass Brittle Works. Mexboro’.

His elder brother, Pte. John Thomas (Northumberland Fusiliers), is in the Balkans, and has not had home leave for over three years.
