Private Charles E. Haldenby

Private Haldenby, 3 Flowitt Street, Mexboro’, was killed in action in France on Oct. 13, 1918.

He was 25 years of age and leaves a widow and one child.

Before enlistment in May last year he was employed at Manvers Main. According to a message received from his officer he was killed instantly by a machine gun bullet.

The officer adds :—

“Your husband was an exceptionally nice and fellow, and a soldier on whom I would put infinite trust. His death comes as a sad blow to me.”
