Not Surprising!

It is hardly surprising that Alfred Guy, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Guy, 75, Schofield Street, Mexborough, should be in France doing his bit. Alfred’s father served throughout the last war, and was wounded in 1915, and his uncle (who lives in Rochdale) served in the Navy for 22 years, and at the age of 63 has just volunteered again for any service at home or overseas!

Alfred worked at Denaby Colliery before joining up. He was on reserve and had served in Aden for several years. “
