Private Joseph Grainger (25), only son of Mrs. and late Mr. Grainger, of 54, Wath Road, Mexborough. has been serving in the Manchester Regiment for several months.

Born in Mexborough, he attended Roman Terrace School, and before joining up was employed by Mr. O. Weaver, of Mexborough.

Grainger is married and has two children
