Soldier – Clarke, Wilfred – Missing

Missing

L/Sgt. Wilfred Clarke, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. Clarke of 24 Helena Street, Mexborough, has been reported missing in Italy.

L/Sgt. Clarke has been in the Army for three years and has been abroad for twelve months.  He was in the Tunisian fighting, and went to Italy just before Christmas.

He is married and his wife is a corporal in the W.A.A.F.

He attended Swinton Bridge School and before joining up worked at Barnburgh Main Colliery.
