Private. Blucher Barley
Private Barley whose home was with his uncle and aunt. Mr. and Mrs. John Ward, 2, Royal Oak Terrace, Mexboro’, was killed in action on September 26. He was 20 years of age, and before enlistment in May, 1916, worked on the surface at Denaby Main Colliery.
He had been serving in France since last January.
Sec.-Lieut. S. Steel writes: “His death is a great grief and loss to his Company. -Ile died doing his duty, and helped to give the enemy a bad defeat.”
