Cure For Rheumatics

Writes Pte. G. Antcliff (formerly of Roman Terrace, Mexborough): “I saw some Denaby and Conanby chaps the other day. I expect you will have had Guy Fawkes night and a few squibs over there.”

He goes on to talk of the bad weather they have had and adds, “The other day a pal asked the M.O. to treat him for rheumatics. He was told to take a mud bath. What a laugh when he told the lads.”

Pte. Antcliff lived in Roman Terrace for a number of years, and joined the Army in 1924. His home is now in Garden Street, and his present station “somewhere in France.”
