Silver Souvenir.

Driver Walter Long is back home again after three and a half years abroad and has brought with him a silver tankard, one of 130 to members of his Company (387 DUKW, AS.C.), by the Company Commander to mark their outstanding work on amphibious ‘“Ducks” in the Burma Campaign.

Dvr. Long, who is the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Long, fruiterers, 12 Bank Street, Me borough has been in the Army almost five years. He has spent a good deal of time in the Burma jungle This attractive souvenir is inscribed: ‘Driver W. Long from 387 DUKW Company. R.A.S.C., India—Burma, 1942/45.”

Mr. and Mrs. Long have two other sons in the Forces, Cpl. Leslie Long. their eldest son, who is in the R.A.S.C. workshops, and Dvr. Teddy Long. R.A.S.C., who is in Germany. The latter has seen almost six years’ service. Mr. and Mrs. Long’s daughter, Miss Kathleen Long, is nursing at the Isolation Hospital, Conisbrough.
