Stanley Desmond Maddison (17), a milk roundsman employed by the B.B.C.S., of 16, Grenfell Avenue. Adwick Road, Mexborough, was committed to prison for three months with hard labour by the Barnsley Borough magistrates yesterday on six charges of embezzlement and six of falsification of checks.
A number of other similar cases were also taken into account.
For the Society Winter said the total amount involved was £7. Maddison had manipulated the carbon papers so that false amounts were registered on check duplicates.
Col. G. J. E. Rideal, for Maddison, pleaded for leniency on account of his youth.
