Mexborough Secondary School Presentation

Yesterday, the staff presented to Mr. Hacking a case of cutlery. Making the presentation, the headmaster (Mr. H. L. Watkinson) spoke of Mr. Hacking’s long association with the school and tendered the gift as a token of his colleagues’ goodwill and affection.
It was the staff’s sincere hope that both Mr. and Mrs. Hacking would have health and happiness. Miss Crowther spoke mainly for the mistresses and old students, and said that only those on the staff who had passed through Mr. Hacking’s hands realised fully the esteem in which Mr. Hacking was held by old students.
Mr. Sutcliffe (senior master) added a tribute, and in reply, Mr. Hacking thanked the staff and said he hoped he. would be as happy in retirement as he had been at work.
