Prisoner in Malaya

Mr and Mrs. A. E. Boyes, of 14, Pym Road, Mexborough, were informed by the Admiralty on Thursday that their second son, A.B. Frank Boyes (23), is a prisoner of war in Malaya. He was reported missing in April, after surviving the sinking of H.M.S. Repulse in January. A.B. Boyes joined the Navy eighteen months ago, being previously employed at a Mexborough shop.

An old student of Mexborough Secondary School, he was a member of Mexborough Scouts for over 16 years.
