of Dodsworth St, Mexborough has died of wounds received in France.

He was 20 years of age, and enlisted in September 1914, and went to Gallipoli in March 1915, and during the campaign he was wounded and sent to a hospital in Malta.

He subsequently served continuously in France.

Previous to enlistment he worked at Denaby colliery.

Leading Seaman Hakin has had one brother private H Hakin and a brother-in-law, Private E Oxer, killed in action. The former was killed in October 1915, and the latter in October 1914.
