Rugby at Mexborough

The first rugby match to be seen in Mexborough took place on the Athletic ground, last night, between teams children from the players at Barnsley and Doncaster.

The teams were evenly matched, strikes, were led by eight points to nil at half-time, finally been forced a narrow victory of 15 points to 14.

The match was arranged by the Mexborough YMCA, as part of their share in the national appeal to raise £25,000.
