Rotary Club

After serving for two years, Mr. C. Marshall Hattersley retired from the position of’ president of the Mexborough Rotary Club at the weekly luncheon on Tuesday.
Installing his successor, Mr. Charles Marks, Mr. Hattersley thanked the members for their support during his term of office. They had created a cheerful atmosphere and had done much good work outside the club. He hoped the members would extend to his successor the support and forbearance they had shown to himself.
Accepting office, Mr. Marks thanked the club for conferring the dignity upon him. He referred to the great work the members were doing in regard to the Boys’ Club. The year before them was full of difficulties and perplexities and they would have many opportunities of “service before self.” Proposing a vote of thanks to the retiring president Mr. Worrall said Mr. Hattersley had done very good service for the club and had put Mexborough rotary on the map. Rotarian C. P. Tiptaft was initiated into the office of vice-president.
