Fast ‘Bus.
Reckless Approach to Mexboro’ Terminus.
Frederick W. Lockwood, of Bolton-on-Dearne, was charged at Doncaster on Tuesday with having driven a motor-‘bus dangerously.
P.-c. Rowling said he saw defendant driving a ‘bus into West Street, Mexborough, from Main Street at between 30 and 40 miles all hour. Two other ‘buses were leaving the terminus and they had to pull up sharply to avoid a collision.
Lockwood said his inspector waved him. on.. He went round the corner a ” bit sharp and struck a pot hole, which caused the ‘bus to ” bounce.’
The Chairman (Mr. G. B, Shiffener) said defendant would be fined £5 and his licence endorsed. If he was not more careful he would have his ‘bus licence taken away.
